Terms and Conditions of My APSR 2018

for the use of services by account user, abstract submitters and registrants via My APSR 2018 online system

1.Scope

These General Terms and Conditions shall apply to the services offered by the APSR 2018 (hereinafter referred to as "Organiser") to speakers, exhibitors or listeners (hereinafter referred to as "Participants" or "you") in connection with the use of the web-site portal apsr2018.com. Terms other than these Terms and Conditions explicitly do not apply. This is also applicable in as far as the Participant refers to the validity of his own Terms and Conditions in standardised forms in the framework of confirmation letters and wishes to include them in this way. General Terms and Conditions possibly deviating from these shall not become part of the contract even if APSR 2018 does not explicitly object to them.

2.Create account

2.1 In order to enrol for a Congress or to enlist other services you need to create account via the portal and enter your personal data. The Organier will edit this data according to valid data protection laws and the privacy policy. You must choose your own password and you are responsible to keep it secure and prevent misuse.

2.2 The Organiser shall inform you about all other data required during the registration process.

3.Submitting abstracts

3.1 If the Organiser offers you the possibility, you may upload an abstract to the portal that you wish to publish in hardcopy, digital print- or online media.

3.2 By uploading your abstract and essential content to the portal you agree to your content being published, duplicated, distributed and made publicly accessible, non-exclusively and royalty free, on the Organiser’s websites. This may also apply to other third party websites, in all print and online media or other data services, especially in the Congress catalogue, in data carriers for content (e.g. DVD, CD-ROM, USB), in membership lists and on any online-portals operated by the Organiser or authorised third parties and any publications ensuing in connection with the Congress, wholly or partially, transferable and unrestricted in terms of time and place.

3.3 You guarantee the Organiser and other third parties authorised to use your abstract that you are entitled to the described granting of rights and no third party rights oppose this (e.g. due to contractual relationships with third parties or due to unclarified personal rights) and furthermore that no statutory provisions are breached due to the contractual use of the abstract. You will exempt the Organiser or other authorised third parties from any claims by third parties who wish to assert these due to a possible legal breach.

4.Participation as a listener

4.1 Your participation is subject to the conditions (dates, prices, etc.) stated during the registration process. You can book your participation (binding offer) during the registration process. Before booking, all entries will be shown to you in a confirmation window and may be corrected by you by using the normal mouse or keyboard functions.

4.2 The processing of payments is done through Taiwan Cooperative Bank that may be operated by a third party. For this purpose, the registration process on the last step will direct you to the relevant portal.

4.3 Should the APSR 2018 be cancelled or postponed the legal requirements and regulations of the Organiser shall be applied.

4.4 By completing the booking, you give the consent that the participants details to be included in the list of participants.

5.Liability of the Organiser

5.1 The organiser points out that it is not possible according to the current state of the art to create error-free software that performs with all kind of applications or is protected against manipulation by third parties. This also applies to the failure of hardware and software.

6.Miscellaneous

6.1 Should individual terms in these General Terms and Conditions be ineffective, the effectiveness of the remaining terms shall remain unaffected. Instead, their place should be taken by a provision coming closest to the commercial purpose as intended initially by the parties.

6.2 The Organisier reserves the right to remove or edit any accounts, abstracts and registrants under any condition.
